Dragons

Very little is remembered about these majestic and ancient creatures. According to the Eldar Annals, the Dragons were the oldest and most powerful race in Eldar. They were gargantuan winged reptiles with talons and teeth as sharp as steel, horns and thorns covering their scales, which were harder than mithril. They were known for their unmatched strength and the horrifying fear they could instill in the hearts of the peoples of Eldar. They were capable of breathing all types of elemental matter, using their wings to soar high into the skies, performing complex and intricate magic, and much more. They were said to come in every shade of color, every size, and every shape.

Their lineage is an ancient one, and they were known for their fearsome power. Considered descendants of the Dragon Gods, the Dragons were the first race to harness magic through the use of their own ancient Draconic language. In ages past, they were known and feared for their predatory cunning and greed, with the oldest Dragons accounted as some of the most powerful creatures in the land. However, after their reign over Eldar ended, some became symbols of wisdom and intelligence, sharing powerful secrets with those who were worthy and preaching harmony with the world and all its inhabitants. Others continued to shun the other races, and remained as violent and unpredictable as ever.

Dragons could live for over half a millennium, granting them a very broad perspective on the world and the passing of time. In an age of war and deception known throughout all history as the Dragon Hunts, the Dragons were hunted down and slain, driven to extinction. There are no records left of their culture, biology, or history. Only myths and legends as old as Eldar itself remain, inscribing Dragons in Eldar’s history for all time.
