Fae
The Fae are an extremely magical race. Barely reaching over three feet tall and weighing only as much as a small stone, Fae resemble diminutive humanoids with gossamer wings like those of dragonflies or butterflies. Their wings are bright as the clear dawn, as luminous as the full moonrise, and bearing many designs and patterns ranging from those of a butterfly to a dragonfly to a beetle. Fae skin shades match those of the Human spectrum, while their hair and eyes come in shades of natural colors, like the greens of the leaves and grass, the pale warm color of sand, or the browns and bronzes of the dirt and trees that fade into the reds and yellows of autumn. Fae have small pointed ears, and their eyes often look like pools of molten liquid; however the pupils can be visible if ever given a closer look. Every Fae’s wings can be hidden or rendered invisible at will. Fae are often mistaken as spectral ghosts or spirits because of their naturally small size and bright auras. Despite how small they are born, once fully grown, they can easily manipulate magic in such a way that they can change their size, even to that of an average Human. Their weight becomes proportional to the height and size they decide upon.
Curious as cats and shy as deer, the Fae live within Eldar’s central forest, and prefer to make their homes in hidden grottoes or tree holes, well hidden from the sight of other beings. In these places, Fae cast shimmering lights to color their domains in incandescent hues, gradually shifting from soft reds to bright yellows to deep violets and back again. They like to spy on other creatures and are always excited to make new friends; only a Fae's fear of being captured or attacked can contain its innate curiosity. In truth those who wander through a Fae's glade might never see the creatures, though they might hear the occasional giggle, gasp, or sigh. When seen Fae generally wear doublets or flowing gowns made of silk that sparkles in moonlight. They also love vibrantly colored clothes or shiny metal armor. Some even dress in acorns, leaves, bark, and the pelts of tiny woodland beasts. They take great pride in their regalia and beam with joy when they are complimented on their ensembles.
Rumors and old legends state that Fae only die if their names are completely forgotten, which can happen over the many eons they exist. Fae know their names from the moment they are born. These names are sometimes symbolic of plants, colors, animals, and other natural sources. They consider their names to be sacred things, and will only reveal it to those they trust. Fae are masters at controlling magic, which seems to flow throughout their realm as easily as air. They are very curious about the outside world and are always aspiring to learn as much as they can. As such they are the wisest and most intelligent race of all. Some Fae have existed since the birth of Eldar itself. It is impossible to lie to a Fae. At the same time, it is also impossible for Fae themselves to lie, although they are quite adept at spinning the truth by saying one thing while meaning something else entirely.

As Fae live solitary lives, they do not posses an economy or any semblance of profession within their communities, and they almost never communicate with the other kingdoms, preferring instead to observe and record the history of the outside world without participating or interfering, though the Fae have had their appearances in the past. Anything they require they are able to find within their woodland home through foraging for things like berries and edible flora, as well as hunting any small fauna. They are known for having large collections of things left behind by travelers passing through. One thing that Fae are very talented at is interpreting and using magic for almost anything, as Fae are the only race remaining that understand the true inner workings of magic better than any other.
