The Ketani are fast and elegant, curious and playful, and at times fierce and unstoppable. They live within the northernmost forest in a kingdom filled with brilliant lights and architectural marvels. Born with a natural grace and athleticism, Ketani look identical to Humans, save for their cat-like ears and tail, which can be as long as 3 feet. Fully grown, they stand anywhere from 5 to 6 feet tall, and usually weigh anywhere from 150 to 220 pounds. Males usually weigh more than females, and also tend to sport more fur on their ears and tail.

 

Their skin coloration follows the same Human range, from near black to very pale. Their hair and fur colors range from blondes and browns to blacks, greys, and whites. With almond shaped irises, their eyes are as liquid pools of vibrant color. They mostly dress in leathers and light overlapping fabrics, so their bodies can breathe and they can remain agile at all times. Most of their attire tends to be dark in color, coming in shades of green, red, black, and brown.

 

Ketani are a curious and playful race. Their litters can consist of at most three or four offspring per family, and most Ketani are capable of living a little over a century. Despite this small lifespan, Ketani live their lives to the fullest, with the intent on experiencing all the world has to offer. They are loyal to those of their own race, and very accepting of other races. They are quick to defend their allies, and equally as quick to strike down their enemies.

 

Being part feline, Ketani possess powerful animal senses and acrobatic abilities. They are particularly known for their speed, instincts, and quick reflexes. They are masters of martial arts, and have developed a fighting style that is unique to their armies in which they combine their physical prowess with magic. They utilize their skills to hunt, gather, and craft. It is through these skills that the Ketani have created the largest economic trade network ever seen in Eldar. The Ketani also possess a vast knowledge of herbs, spices, and various medicinal plants. Many of the rarer herbs and spices are sold exclusively from the Ketani Kingdom.

The heart of the Ketani Kingdom is built in the crown of the largest tree in existence, located at the center of the northernmost forest. Over a mile thick, the trunk of this tree provides shelter for the Ketani and many of the forest’s denizens. Its roots stretch for miles, and its branches reach unbelievable heights. Every century, the tree produces fruits that grant magical gifts to those who eat them. Younglings become adults when they first receive their gift from the tree, and they spend most of their lives mastering or seeking to understand the gifts they receive. These gifts can include new forms of magic, some kind of inspiration, visions of the future, or even blessings of extended life or new strength.

 

The Ketani have a fascination with invention. Tinkerers in their own right, the Ketani focus on taking what is old and present and transforming it into something new and useful. Their most profitable invention, one that has changed Eldar, as well as its many economies, is the airship. Ketani are known as "Masters of the Sky", and they use their airships to travel all across Eldar to trade and do business with the other races. They have all manner of business, ranging from agriculture, smithing, education, and some of the rarer trades such as the oil, spice, and silk trades.
