Gremlins are a race of impish creatures with a destructive and voracious nature that makes them almost universally despised. They are short and ugly, standing just over 4 feet tall. Their scrawny bodies are topped with oversized and usually hairless heads with massive ears and beady red or occasionally yellow eyes.

 

A Gremlin's skin tone varies based on the surrounding environment. Common skin tones include motty browns, sickly yellows, and moldy greens. Gremlins have a lifespan of about 60 years. Their voracious appetites are served well by their huge mouths filled with jagged teeth.

 

Gremlins rely on their own wits to survive. They have developed quite a reputation for being devilishly greedy, mischievous, and clever. Gremlins have incredibly long memory-spans and bottomless appetites, and they frequently go to war or execute raids against other races to sate their pernicious urges.

 

Gremlins are born troublemakers and liars. To a Gremlin, complexity is a goal in and of itself. They tend to over-complicate simple plans, and are cruel often for the sake of cruelty alone. Gremlins are relentless and obsessive.

 

Gremlins are extremely vain and overly proud of their plans and aspirations.

Violent creatures, Gremlins exist in primitive tribal structures. Gremlins cannot sustain themselves on their own, so they'll often live where food is abundant in the form of edible flora or fauna, or near places they can steal it from. Gremlins tend to live in unpleasant and remote locations, and their poor building and planning skills ensure that they dwell primarily in crude caves, ramshackle hills that have been hollowed out, or abandoned structures.

 

Few Gremlins are good with tools or skilled at farming, and the rare items of any value that they do possess are usually cast-off implements from the Humans or other civilized cultures.

 

Gremlins' appetites and poor planning lead to a "domination by the strongest" type of lifestyle. As far as any of the other races can tell, there are no visible physical differences in gender for Gremlins, so how they are able to reproduce is a mystery. They tend to view other beings as sources of food, which makes for poor relations with other races. Gremlins always prey on weak or lost travelers, leaving nothing behind. Gremlins best get along with the Uldra, as they both experience the same hatred for other races.
